Greater Metropolitan Cemeteries Trust
GMCT cares for 19 cemetery and memorial park sites across Melbourne, supporting Victorians through the experiences of life, death and grief. They provide burial, cremation and memorialisation services that help families honour loved ones and plan ahead with confidence. They work to protect and evolve cultural traditions across their sites, developing new memorial parks, sustainable memorial options and modern technologies to meet changing community needs. Through open engagement, including their Your Say GMCT community, they invite Victorians to contribute to the future of their memorial spaces.
What I did
The Greater Metropolitan Cemeteries Trust (GMCT) required a comprehensive review of all collateral across their network of 19 cemeteries and memorial parks. Research had shown that they needed to more effectively communicate their key offerings and processes with customers. The project initially involved extensive engagement with stakeholders at every level of the organisation. I met with executive leaders through to frontline customer service teams to understand their current challenge, assess existing materials and determine how effectively they were meeting customer needs.
A strategic, organisation‑wide approach was implemented through a new suite of collateral that aligned with GMCT’s brand, addressed operational requirements, and strengthened the customer experience. This involved managing creative direction, developing detailed briefs, producing photoshoots, writing and refining copy, coordinating stakeholder engagement, and overseeing print production to ensure consistent, premium final products.
The end result was a suite of high quality materials that showcase GMCT’s cemeteries and memorial parks, guide customers through purchasing processes, and explain key concepts such as the Right of Interment.
